February Goings-On

2020 is gearing up to be an exciting year for CAG! This month, we have a new venue to display member artwork, a public meeting with the City of Cayce, and our monthly guild meeting.


NEW EXHIBIT VENUE


The Tri-City Leisure Center (TCLC) in West Columbia has agreed to an exhibit in the main entrance to the facility. It’s fairly small, but the locking case will accommodate two- and three-dimensional (on shelves that are provided) art, approximately six to eight 2-D plus the same number of 3-D, depending on the size. We would love to include ceramics, sculpture, and other 3-D work.


We currently plan to include two pieces for each participating artist. Please limit 2-D work to no larger than 16x20 and similar size for 3-D. First priority will be given to CAG members who are also members of the TCLC. The exhibit will be displayed through May.

CAYCE PUBLIC MEETING - PREP FOR PLANNING


The City of Cayce invites you to attend the second public meeting to help the City prepare its 2020 comprehensive plan. It uses the plan to guide growth, measure accomplishments, address citizen needs, and more. February 25, 2020, 6-8 PM, Lexington Two Innovation Center, 509 Bulldog Boulevard, Cayce.

MEETING REMINDER


CAG's meeting is Thursday, February 20, 6 PM social/networking, 6:30 business meeting followed by guest speaker, Philip Mullen. Dr. Mullen is a renowned artist and recently named a recipient of a Verner Award for lifetime achievement! Take a look at his web site https://philipmullen.com/. You may recognize his work from paintings on display at the Koger Center, the Riverbanks Botanical Garden, or the Columbia Museum of Art in the Urban section in Gallery 17. Bring a piece of your artwork to share.
