The next Cayce Arts Guild meeting will be held Thursday, March 9, and will feature a presentation by local artist Michael Geddings. Michael’s first love was drawing, and he now specializes in Portrait Photorealism. He is based in Lexington, S.C. See below for more about Michael and his work.

Michael’s Bio:
Local artist Michael Geddings is a native of Columbia, South Carolina. Like most children, he enjoyed playing with friends from sun- up to sundown; but what he loved more than anything couldn’t be found on the playground or baseball field. It was found within pictures and images that were buried in his mind, waiting to escape to the paper.
Michael’s passion for art grew from the moment he could hold a pencil and draw a line; it came to him naturally. As his level of art matured, he experimented with various techniques and mediums including Charcoal, Watercolor, Pastels, Oil and Acrylic Painting. It didn’t take him long to realize that the style he embraced most was Portrait Photorealism. For Michael, the chance to meet new people and hear their personal stories is the greatest reward as a portrait artist.
Michael studied at the Governor’s School for the Arts and the University of South Carolina. He has been a professional commissioned artist for over 25 years, averaging 150 works of art per year. Michael resides in Lexington, SC, with his wife Cheryl and their two children, Dylan & Meadow.
